The Institute of Ethiopian Standards (IES) is the national standards body of Ethiopia.

IES is renamed by proclamation number 1263/2021 from Ethiopian Standards Agency which was established following the restructuring of the Quality and Standards Authority of Ethiopia in 2010. It is a non-profit government body of the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration. Its policy-making and governing body is the standards board whose members are appointed by the government from various organizations.

The main objective of IES includes development of standards and establishing a system that enables goods and services are in compliance with standards, conduct standards related researches and coordinate research for the development of indigenous products. It provides training and technical support for the implementation for standards that contribute to trade facilitation, countries economic and social development through technological transfer. It is also responsible to administer national standard mark scheme.

IES is an Associate member of IEC and participating member of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CODEX). IES contributes to regional standards harmonization activities and is a founding member of the African Regional Organization for Standardization (ARSO).
